Silk Road int’l cooperation conference opens in Xi’an

The 2021 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application kicked off in Xi’an on Oct 28.

The 2021 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application kicked off in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Oct 28.

The conference was guided by the Ministry of Education, hosted by the National Center for Schooling Development Programme, and co-organized by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government and Xi'an Jiaotong University.

The conference consisted of five sub-forums on the energy and chemical industries, aerospace, new materials, plateau ecological protection, the high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and traditional culture protection, development and utilization.

The opening ceremony was held both online and offline. Academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs from China, Russia, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Serbia, Italy and other countries participated both online and offline.

Fang Guanghua, vice-governor of Shaanxi, said that the conference has brought about new opportunities for foreign exchange and opening-up in northwestern China in the field of education.

Shaanxi will continue to expand industry, education, research and application cooperation, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements, and provide a strong impetus for the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, Fang added.

At the conference, the education departments of Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia Hui autonomous region and other places jointly launched a Belt and Road education cooperation and exchange and coordinated development mechanism in Northwest China.

In addition, 10 cooperation platforms such as the China-Pakistan Biological Healthy Agriculture Overseas Technology Demonstration Park were unveiled, and agreements for 19 projects were signed.
